Workshop Results: approach to the concept of legal timber to Colombia

After the workshop: An approach to the concept of legal timber, organized by the Project Positioning of forest governance in Colombia (initiative funded by the European Union and led by CARDER), presents a summary of the main issues discussed and the results and conclusions drawn during the event:
• A meeting was held between the District Department of Environment, representatives of the project Madeira é LegalofBrazil and the project, which aimed to achieve the approximation  of the three entities, seeking to find ways to combat illegal joint forest, this will begins the preparatory phase of macro agreement cooperation between the three institutions.

• The working sessions during the workshop helped to develop three approaches to the definition of legal timber. Which were developed based on inputs, experience and views of all participants

• The Project for next year, concentrating efforts in the process of agreeing on a definition that includes all aspects covered during the workshop and validates it with others in the forestry sector.
