Youth Economic Empowerment(YEE) Tanzania Project, groups have received loans; In Kisarawe district youth received TZS9, 000,000.00($4500) while in Ifakara two groups of disability youth received TZs4,000,000.00($2,000).
After completing six months courses funded by European Union, YEE youth who have joined savings and loans associations-YSLA and registered their groups are legible to get loans. Young women and disabled groups in the said districts have benefited from loans provided by the district authorities to empower and boost their projects. “We believe that there is no tool for development more effective than the empowerment of youth ”, said Hapinnes Seneba, Kisarawe District Commissioner-DC, she said this during the handover event held at the district grounds.
Plan Tanzania's Grace Semwaiko said “Women who are empowered become solutions to poverty, poor health and vulnerability for their families and within their communities.
