1st International Conference "SOLAR ENERGY: ISSUES, POTENTIALS AND CONSTRAINTS FOR AFRICA"
Event details
Description
The AFRETEP team informs about a conference which is organised by our partner the Burkinabe Institute for Water and Environmental Engineering. Please, find attached more information.
"Africa has a huge potential in natural energy resources, especially in renewable energy resources
which remain currently little exploited. Meanwhile, more than 60% of the African population doesn’t
have access to electricity. The progress achieved in the latest decades in the solar field appear then
as a real opportunity for Africa."
"Burkina Faso Authorities called upon the International Institute for Water and Environmental
Engineering (2iE, Ouagadougou) and the National Center of Solar Energy (INES, France) to make an
assessment of the ongoing solar experiences, to invite and sensitize the private sectors, and to make
recommendations for decision makers in order to light up the choices of the national and regional
institutions as well as NGOs and private operators for the solar market development in Africa."
