64th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Convention on Wetlands | 20–24 January 2025

The 64th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Convention on Wetlands will address key updates and plans for 2025. The agenda includes reviewing reports from working groups, assessing the implementation of previous decisions, and setting the Committee's workplan for the upcoming year. Discussions will also cover scientific topics, such as a proposed partnership for waterbird population estimates.

Strategic priorities will feature prominently, including updates on wetland inventories, enhancing the Convention's visibility, strengthening synergies with other multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs) and international organizations, and reviewing institutional strengthening efforts. Additionally, participants will explore communication, capacity building, education, participation, and awareness (CEPA) initiatives, and hear a report from the youth working group.
