ANGEL Network
Event details
Description
The Academic Network on Global Education & Learning aims to build an international community of researchers and scholars, policymakers, and practitioners, in the field of Global Education. With this in mind, and responding to event feedback from members, we are happy to confirm the return of our regular series of shorter, research-focused events for the 2024/25 academic year. The ANGEL Webinar Series is aimed mainly at Global Education professionals, as well as anyone with an interest in research in the fields of Development Education, Global Citizenship Education, Human Rights Education, Education for Sustainable Development, Education for Peace, and Intercultural Education. This event, along with the other activities of the ANGEL network, are co-funded by the European Union*.
Drawing on specific literature and examples from the Japanese context, this session will outline a range of alternative approaches to global citizenship informed by “de-growth” and post-materialist perspectives as well as non-Western and decolonial scholarship which offer children and young people a concrete vision of what an alternative to BAU-G looks like.
