The Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) will be running a training course (in Italian) on Climate Change and Development organized for the 10th and 11th May in Milan.

The course will be based on previously delivered GCCA training materials “Mainstreaming Climate Change into National Development Planning and Budgeting” [see http://www.gcca.eu/policy-dialogue-and-experience-sharing/mainstreaming-workshops ] as well as further materials. It will present the science of climate change and the linkages between climate change and development, together with approaches on the mainstreaming of climate change into national policies and plans. The course will also examine climate change negotiations and finance - including CDM – leading into discussions on REDD+. A representative of the European Forest Institute (EFI) will present the modules on REDD+, highlighting the potential benefits that this brings to adaptation and wider development, as well as mitigation.
