Event details
Description
On 21 September, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, in full collaboration with DEVCO (Unit B4), organized a lunch time conference in DEVCO,s External Cooperation Info Point in Brussels on the topic of Culture and Development Indicators.
Spain is an international reference in Culture and Development (C+D). Its longstanding experience in the field was translated into the publication of the Culture and Development Strategy in 2007. Since then, AECID has promoted the creation of C+D indicators in order to better integrate Culture as a key element of any development strategy. AECID first created a system of indicators to be implemented in C+D projects of the Spanish Cooperation for development. Later, AECID fostered the creation of the UNESCO Culture and Development Indicators Suite (CDIS). These projects were presented at the Info Point by José Manuel Argilés, Head of the Evaluation and Knowledge Management Division of the Spanish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, and Guiomar Alonso, Chief of the Culture Unit of the UNESCO Regional Office for West Africa/Sahel (Dakar) and CDIS project leader.
