Please find attached the invitation to the CSDP Orientation Course - ESDC Activity number 16-17/3/1 - organised in Madrid, Spain between 27 and 31 March 2017 by CESEDEN – Centro Superior de Estudios de la Defensa Nacional (Centre for National Defence Studies), under the ESDC auspices.

The CSDP Orientation Course is one of the top courses of the ESDC. The course aims to provide the participants with a general overview of the CSDP and getting into more detail on the most pertinent issues on the current European security and defence policy agenda. The course consists of an eLearning part, as well as a residential session, held in Madrid, Spain, both parts being compulsory. It will offer the participants a broad understanding of CSDP; in particular, they will be exposed to the CSDP institutional framework, current policies, as well as structures and processes, taking into account the comprehensive approach. Participants will also have the opportunity to network, share views and perspectives with one another and with professionals in the field of CSDP. This specific Orientation Course will focus on how the EU and its member states could face the unconventional and unrestricted warfare.

The registration to the course is done by the designated EU ENLIST Nominators using the ESDC ENLIST system (https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/ENList/web/app.php/login). The registration period ends on 20 February 2017. Registration will not be final until confirmed by the ESDC Secretariat. Further details on the course (content, tentative agenda, administrative instructions) will be provided via e‐mail directly to the confirmed participants by the Course Director, Col. José Tomás HIDALGO TARRERO, jhidtar@ea.mde.es.

• while registering your candidates in ENLIST, please use their personal e-mail address and not functional/generic mail box addresses;

• please double check the full name (as in official documents) and the e-mail addresses of your candidates before saving in ENLIST, as we will be using the addresses to confirm participation and to circulate information;
