EDD 2015 Lab debate on Culture: The Forgotten Lifeblood of Development, Brussels, 2015

This session, organised by African Diaspora Network, aims to have an interactive debate between EU policymakers and African diaspora members on how to value the asset of cultural diversity to development in the post-2015 development framework. The debate will highlight and emphasise culture’s added value to the pillars of sustainability. The session will be opened by Louis Michel, Co-President of ACP of ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly, who will introduce discussion groups. The discussions will bring together participants from international organizations, European Union institutions, governments, development agencies, civil society organisations, academics, the private sector, media and independent experts.
