The ESDC Secretariat is pleased to invite you to nominate participants to the ESDC course on Strategic Planning for Civilian Missions taking place from 10 to 14 July 2017 in Brussels, Belgium. The course is organized by Austria and Finland.
This course will focus on the specific challenges that strategic partners are confronted with the context of civilian crisis management. It consists of an eLearning phase (using the eLearning platform of ESDC named ILIAS), as well as the residential part held in Brussels from 10 to 14 July 2017, both being compulsory.
The course is open to experts (with a civilian, police and military background) from the EU Member States and the European Institutions and Agencies, including EU Delegations. Priority will be given to participants who are engaged or plan to engage in strategic planning of civilian CSDP missions and/or have recently joined relevant departments of the EEAS and the European Commission.
Throughout this course, participants will have the opportunity to benefit from the know-how of experts of European institutions and Members States, as well as to network and share views and perspectives with one another and with professionals in the field of CSDP.
Please note that registration to the course should be done by the designated EU ENLIST Nominators using the ESDC ENLIST system https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/ENList/web/app.php/login
The registration period has been extended to 26 June 2017.

- while registering your candidates in ENLIST, please use their personal e-mail address and not functional mail boxes;
- please double check the e-mail addresses of your candidates before saving in ENLIST as that is the one we use for the confirmation of their participation;
- please forward this e-mail together with the invitation to your potential candidates.
Registration will not be final until confirmed by the ESDC Secretariat AND upon completion of the registration form by the nominated participant in ENLIST.
Applications from other than EU Member States should be sent to secretariat-esdc@eeas.europa.eu indicating:
- full name of the candidate
- personal e-mail address (functional mailboxes will not be accepted)
- institution
- reason how this course benefits applicant
Please find enclosed the Invitation, practical information and tentative programme. Further information on the course will be forwarded via e-mail directly to the course participants by the course directors, Mr Philipp AGATHONOS (philipp.agathonos@bmeia.gv.at) and Mr Antti HÄIKIÖ (antti.haikio@intermin.fi ), as soon as the attendance list is complete and the participants confirmed (mid-June).
