EuropeAid conference: Is it time to rethink school feeding?
European Commission DG for International Cooperation and Development
Event details
Description
School feeding has traditionally been seen as having positive educational outcomes with regard to school enrolment and attendance, particularly for girls. The evidence of impact in other sectors is mixed, depending on design, quality of implementation, the make-up of the research team, and the specific outcomes expected.
Dr. Donald Bundy, professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine will present the findings from the World Bank’s recent publication “Re-Imagining School Feeding: a High-Return Investment in Human Capital and Local Economies” and Carmen Burbano, Director of WFP’s new School Feeding Division, will complement with a view of how WFP is incorporating these new findings in its strategy and vision.
