Sessions organized by UNEP
1. Quick Wins for Climate and Development
Topic: Climate Change
The CCAC Secretariat is organizing a lab debate on the importance of reducing short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) in tackling global warming and in reaching the SDGs. This discussion will explore the best ways and possible stumbling blocks to bring about fast mitigation of SLCPs to deliver quick results, and contribute to multiple SDGs and the Paris climate change agreement. Speakers will present mitigation examples, and discuss questions including: What are the main barriers to fast action? Will the "wins" be quick? Are mitigation measures compatible with local/regional realities? Are they economically viable? Is funding available?
This lab debate will take place on 15 June from 14h15 – 15h00.
