On the eve of The EDDs, we would like to invite you to Figure Studies, a performative art and fashion exhibition by Andrew Ondrecjak with artisans and fashion designers from Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Haiti and Mali.
Serving as the Opening Gala for the European Commission’s European Development Days 2018, Figure Studies is an original installation of 12 figures: a new iteration of traditional portraiture in which various cultures, genders, histories and aesthetics are fused into a complex cast of characters. To conceive this fashion and lifestyle inspired art installation, Ondrejcak collaborated with fashion designers, artisans and women’s cooperatives from the Ethical Fashion Initiative’s network to create a new visual language.
