The GET project joins the ANGEL Research to Policy Webinar Series
ANGEL/GENE
Event details
Description
GENE and ANGEL have jointly developed a new webinar programme, the Research to Policy Webinar Series. Its aim is to strengthen the connections between research and policy – and between researchers and policymakers – in Global Education.
The Global Education Time (GET) project plays a pivotal role in this series, leading two out of the three upcoming sessions focused on national policy frameworks and curriculum integration. Drawing on extensive mapping across eight European countries, the GET project will share vital insights to help amplify collective efforts in strengthening Global Citizenship Education across the continent. The GET project's studies presented in the webinar are and/or will be made available for free download on our website.
The series focuses on topics that are at the heart of policymakers’ concerns, identified through GENE’s processes of policy learning. These are questions policymakers want to understand better, and for which they are seeking a clearer sense of what knowledge already exists.
At a moment when our shared values are increasingly under threat, and when there is a growing need to build stronger community and collective action around Global Education, this series is one way to move beyond silos. It is about sharing and building knowledge that can support policy and practice, and about staying connected so that we can amplify our collective power to strengthen Global Education.
THE SERIES
13 May 2026 – Global Citizenship Education in national policy frameworks (organised by the Global Education Time – GET project, a project co-founded by the European Union through the DEAR Programme). This webinar offers a comparative overview of how Global Citizenship Education (GCE) is currently reflected in policies across eight European countries (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, and Spain). It draws on the studies carried out within the Global Education Time project, and examines key opportunities and challenges in implementing GCE strategies and related public policies, highlighting both common trends and country-specific dynamics.
GET is a project co-founded by the European Union through the DEAR Programme.
17 June 2026 – Local GCE policy and actions: rebuilding trust in democracy globally (organised by Platforma). This webinar will explore how local and regional governments, together with local stakeholders, can lay the foundations for rebuilding trust in democracy. It will showcase inspiring local practices presented by LRG representatives, illustrating how local GCE policies and community-based GCE can contribute to fostering citizens’ critical thinking and trust in democracy. Participants will gain insights into how local and regional governments, together with educators, civil society organisations, and other local stakeholders, can mobilise GCE to build inclusive spaces for dialogue, empower marginalised voices, nurture solidarity, and foster collective action and civic engagement.
PLATFORMA is a pan-European coalition of 30 local and regional governments.
8 July 2026 – Global Citizenship Education in national curricula (organised by the Global Education Time – GET project)
This webinar focuses on how Global Citizenship Education is integrated into national curricula. Based on curriculum mapping research from the Global Education Time (GET) project, it examines where and how key global challenges such as climate change, gender inequalities, global inequalities, and migration are addressed in formal education.
