Global Multistakeholder Dialogue: Toward a Global Guideline to Distinguish Used Textiles from Textile Waste

On 30 September 2025, UNEP is running an online Global Multistakeholder Dialogue: Toward a Global Guideline to Distinguish Used Textiles from Textile Waste. This workshop is part of the  Circularity and Used Textiles Trade project, funded by the European Union. The project seeks to promote a circular, sustainable, and inclusive trade in used textiles by identifying policy, financial, and systemic enablers of transformative change.

This session is a follow up to the Multistakeholder global consultation held in May 2025 and will present the evolution of the global framework for criteria to differentiate used textiles from waste, facilitate final inputs on the proposal and advance exchanges on circular approaches within the global trade of used textiles.
