Green-blue infrastructures for urban resilience: Partnerships to turn policy into urban resilience practice –Wetlands International Event
Wetlands International
Event details
Description
Wetlands International organizes side-event on blue-green infrastructure for urban resilience at the EU Forum Cities and Regions for Development Cooperation on 5 February 2019 in Brussels.
The Forum “Cities and Regions for Development Cooperation” aims to foster policy dialogue on sustainable urban development among local and regional authorities and their associations from the European Union and its partner countries. In particular, the 2019 forum aims at outlining strategic policy recommendations as well as identifying and showcasing good practices that can be scaled-up in the region and thus lead to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Rapid urbanization, as well as climate change, poses great challenges to cities and regions. Urban Resilience is, therefore, a key consideration when planning our cities for tomorrow. Our event seeks to showcase through examples from Panama, Indonesia, and the Philippines, how successful partnerships are key for the promotion of green-blue infrastructure and finally can lead to sustainable and climate resilient urban development in the future.
Date & Time: 5 February 2019, 14.00 – 16.30,
