#GreeningEUcooperation: World Health Day

Industrialization, urbanization, agriculture, forest fires, and inadequate waste management have intensified risks to environmental health and pollution, especially in developing countries. Pollution is the largest environmental cause of disease and premature death (16% of all deaths worldwide).

On World Health Day, we invite you to peruse the European Union Zero Pollution Action Plan, which will guide our work for securing healthy water, air and soil for ecosystems and people living in Europe and around the world.

Knowing the environmental risks help develop better actions to protect lives.
