#GreeningEUcooperation: World Soil Day

World Soil Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of soils for maintaining healthy ecosystems, achieving climate neutrality, and safeguarding human health and well-being by addressing the growing challenges in soil management, fighting soil salinization, increasing soil awareness and encouraging societies to improve soil health.

The EU's soil strategy for 2030, developed in the framework of the European Green Deal, will step up efforts to enhance soil management, protect soil fertility, increase soil carbon in agricultural land and restore degraded soils, so that by 2050 all soil ecosystems are in healthy condition.
