iLEGEND III: Global Education Week

The iLEGEND III Global Education Week (GEW) 2023 is an open event on the theme : “Peace for the planet. A planet of peace”.

The GEW is an annual worldwide awareness raising initiative unfolding during the third week of November. It is organised by the North South Centre of the Council of Europe together with the Global Education Network.

It is a call to rethink our world together, using Global Education as a tool for solidarity and change and contribute to a more and sustainable and equitable world. In preparation and during the Week solutions are shared to rethink our habits and ways of living, spending, and consuming but also finding new ways of education and socialisation. Over 300 000 participants yearly join in the iLEGEND III’s Global Education Week, taking place the third week of November and involving thousands of activities around Global Citizenship Education, SDGs and everyone’s co-responsibility to achieve them.

This year, from 13 to 19 November, the actions will focus on two of the five pillars of the Agenda 2030 (People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace and Partnership). The slogan of this edition is: “Peace for the planet. A planet of peace”. Nevertheless, any activity that contributes to any of the five pillars can be part of the event.
