From 9 to 11 May 2010, GLL Hannover (Agency for Geoinformation, Land Development and Real Estate) with support from GTZ is organising an International Land Management Symposium in Hannover. The Conference will look at best practice and regional solutions in urban-rural interrelationships.
The key topics include:
- The challenges of rural-urban relationships, such as the management of peri-urban areas, migration, secure access to natural resources and the development of sound integrated development approaches
- The institutional and legal framework, looking in particular at the way land management strategies can help address the challenges
- Current approaches and solutions in the fields of surveying and geospatial information, real estate cadastre, valuation of fixed assets, land consolidation, promotion of agriculture and land development trends
- Exchange and discussion of key land management issues at international level.
About 150 experts from German and foreign land management administrative bodies, universities, development cooperation and other professionals interested in the area of land management are expected to participate in the Conference, under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Lower Saxony, Christian Wulff.
