Leveraging the Open Government Partnership to Promote Information Integrity and Media Freedom
Forum on Information and Democracy; Open Government Partnership
Event details
Description
Founded in 2011, the OGP brings government reformers and civil society organizations together, effectively allowing governments to elaborate and implement ambitious reforms. Recognising the importance of media freedom and information integrity to achieve some of its goals (ie. fighting corruption, access to information, etc.), the OGP has launched a ‘challenge’ on the issue calling member States to improve their public policies. Recognising the importance of leveraging this opportunity, the Forum on Information and Democracy is teaming up with the OGP to discuss how to concretely bridge the two agendas.
Join to learn more about:
- The OGP unique process to move from setting principles to implementation
- How we can leverage this process to implement reforms on media freedom and information integrity
- The first examples and good practices from Morocco, Armenia and the UK.
