Linking Information Integrity & Digital Sovereignty: TED Webinar Building on the Outcomes of the Copenhagen Conference on Information Integrity
Team Europe Democracy
Event details
Description
On 29 September 2026, the Team Europe Democracy (TED) Network will host a webinar on linking Information Integrity and digital sovereignty, bringing together policy practicioners, media actors, civil society organisations and citizens to explore how rights-based approaches can strengthen the digital public sphere.
The session builds directly on the outcomes of the Copenhagen Conference on Information Integrity, revisiting the catalogue scalable solutions generated in its aftermath and discussing progress across regions and sectors. A central focus will be on two priority areas: building and scaling locally anchored public-interest platforms and strengthening local media ecosystems.
Organised by the TED Secretariat with contributions from International Media Support (IMS), the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Digital Democracy Initiative (DDI), the webinar frames digital sovereignty as the capacity of diverse actors to shape and govern digital environments in ways that protect fundamental rights, ensure access to public-interest information and sustain independent media.
The 150-minute online workshop will open with a short overview of the Copenhagen Conference outcomes and the identified scalable solutions. The main part will feature inputs and a guided discussion on the two priority solutions, encouraging participants to share experiences, ask questions and identify concrete entry points for action. The session will conclude with a synthesis of key takeaways and a short set of priority action points for the TED Network.
By convening stakeholders from across the TED Network and beyond, the webinar aims to foster a shared understanding of how information integrity and digital sovereignty intersect, and to strengthen coordination for rights-based action. A wider dissemination of the invitation is explicitly encouraged, including actors outside the TED Network and beyond headquarters level.
