Lunch time conference on climate change mainstreaming. Experiences from the Global Climate Change Alliance
Europeaid C2 Unit: Climate Change, Environment, Natural Resources, Water
Event details
Description
Climate change is a global challenge that affects every sector of the economy and all societies. It is not only an environmental problem but also a development issue. Mainstreaming climate change into development strategies is therefore one of the main priorities of the Global Climate Change Alliance (GCCA).
The GCCA supports more than 35 countries and 8 regions, with an envelope of over €285 million. Over the years, lessons learned from mainstreaming in Cambodia or Mozambique have triggered similar efforts in Myanmar or the Comoros.
This conference will provide an insight into the GCCA’s wide ranging programmes across the globe, and the ways in which climate change is integrated in national development processes.
Introduction by:
- Dr Cristiana PASCA PALMER, Head of Unit C.2 Climate Change, Environment, Natural Resources, Water, DG Development and Cooperation-EuropeAid, European Commission
- Dr Pendo MARO, Technical Assistant to the ACP Secretariat, Intra-ACP Support Programme to the GCCA
