Lunch time conference - Higher Education

February is the month dedicated to education within the European Year for Development 2015 - the first ever European Year to focus on development cooperation. The European Commission is organising a series of events to address specific issues within education for development at the External Cooperation Infopoint (Brussels).

On the 26^th February (12:30 to 13:30) the Lunch-time conference will focus on Higher Education: Students, teachers and academic institutions - What are the opportunities / scholarships that are available to the European Union's partner countries in higher education? What are the priorities of these programmes?

Introduction will be made by Ms Véronique Lorenzo, Head of Unit DEVCO B4: Education, Health, Culture and Research, from the European Commission, followed by presentations by:

-     - Wim HOSTE Director, International Training Centre (ITC) of the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering, Ghent University

-       - Deirdre LENNAN International policy officer, Directorate-General for Education and Culture, EC

-       - Adrian VEALE Policy Officer, Directorate-General for Education and Culture, EC

-     - Franziska WOLF on the ALFA projects, Deputy Head, Research and Transfer Centre Applications of Life Sciences, Hamburg University of Applied Sciences

-      - Lorenza GAMBACORTA Programme Manager, Education, Audiovisual and Culture, Executive agency (EACEA)
