The massive open online course (MOOC) on marine litter is here again – now in Spanish!

The MOOC on marine litter teaches students through action-oriented learning how to apply successful and inspiring activities to combat marine litter in their own local environment, regardless of their profession or location. The course presents different tools to combat marine pollution such as the "Honolulu Strategy".

The course provides examples and case studies that will inspire leadership at all levels, thus increasing awareness and stimulating creative solutions to the problems of marine litter. In addition, this course will benefit legislators, professionals and managers who wish to connect with other professionals to improve their knowledge of the problems of marine litter.

The MOOC is available in two possible orientations: 1) Leadership and 2) Expert. It will begin in January 2018 with the Leadership course and a duration of 2 weeks. Those students who wish to remain in the course will continue the course for Experts that will be completed with a total of 8 weeks. Students can obtain a certificate of participation after completing both the Leadership and the Expert orientation. The course is free and all course materials are accessible on the online platform 24 hours a day.
