This year’s Sustainable Gastronomy Day will be celebrated under the theme "More Taste Less Waste” and will be celebrated for the first time, for a full week, inaugurating the Sustainable Gastronomy Restaurant Week. This event will focus on green and sustainable cooking methods that consider where the ingredients are from, how the food is grown and the journey food takes to get to your plate.
Inspired by this initiative and as part of the celebration, we wanted to share the cookbook Food Beyond Borders, featuring delicious Balkan recipes whose cooking principles adhere perfectly to this year’s theme, fusing flavour and sustainability, by priming slow home-cooked foods, traditional recipes and kitchenware with autochthonous ingredients. The book is a part of the activities of the project "Support to Economic Diversification of Rural Areas in Southeast Europe (SEDRA)," implemented by GIZ and the Standing Working Group for Regional Rural Development in South Eastern Europe (SWG RRD), with funding from the EU.
