New 3-day training course on „Land Management“

The GIZ Sector Project “Land Policy and Land Management” presents a new 3-day training course on „Land Management“ which will be conducted for the first time from 09.-11. May 2012 in Feldafing, Germany.
In times of increased relevance of land governance and land management, the training will sensitize you on pivotal questions of land governance and provide you the fundamentals of land management. The training targets on colleagues who have no experiences in land management but who are working in related fields (natural resource management, decentralization, climate change, governance, biodiversity, agriculture) and who would like to get a basic understanding of the concepts and elements of land management.
Main topics of the course are:
·Global relevance of land management in new contexts such as crisis/conflicts, governance, human rights, climate change, biodiversity, agriculture
·Overview of the most important international organizations, international agreements, treaties and current trends in land policy and land governance
·Instruments for sustainable land management and land administration, presentation of key concepts
Prof. Dr. Holger Magel and Dipl.-Ing. Jorge Espinoza from the Technische Universität München will be your trainers. The course will be conducted in English language.
The training will take place in the Bildungszentrum Feldafing at the Starnberger See. Costs for the course add up to 615 EUR (incl. accommodation and food, excluding travel).
