New Term, New Opportunities: Strengthening Inclusion in EU International Cooperation
International Disability & Development Consortium
Event details
Description
After the elections for the European Parliament last May, a new political term is beginning at a vital time for the inclusion of persons with disabilities in international cooperation.
The aim of this debate is to introduce as many MEPs as possible to disability as an international development issue, from the general context in the area of inclusive development (CRPD implementation, post-2015 Development Agenda,...) to more concrete examples and suggestions on what MEPs can do in order to foster an international cooperation that is accessible to and inclusive of all.
Interventions from relevant stakeholders, as well as the presentation of an IDDC toolkit targeted at MEPs, will allow us to present all the facts while leaving time for some constructive debate and discussions between speakers and MEPs, working to shape a more inclusive European Development Cooperation.
