Description
The Volvo Ocean Race will start from Alicante, Spain on 22 October 2017 and finishes in The Hague, Netherlands in June 2018.
The Turn the Tide on Plastic boat and crew, will be promoting UN Environment’s Cleans Seas campaign throughout the 2017/2018 race (see below for the 12 race ports around the world).
An ‘Ocean Summit’ is being held four days before the race in the Alicante race village (Oct 18), where Erik Solheim and the skipper of the #CleanSeas crew, Dee Caffari, will be speaking.

Ocean Summits
Volvo are organising Ocean Summits in six of the 12 ports on the race route to ‘generate discussion, create local relevance, and put out a call to action to business, government and individuals to reduce plastic pollution’.
