Care farming (also called social farming) is a farming practice that uses agricultural resources to provide social or educational care services for vulnerable groups of people.
The aim of the discussion is to gather examples of the use of care farming in developing countries. These examples and case studies will be analyzed by a team at FAO, the University of Pisa and other partners to come up with a framework to promote care farming in developing countries.
We would be interested in examples of how care farming may help fill gaps in social service provision as well as provide rural employment opportunities – especially to women.
