Regional Conference on Industry Engagement and Skills Development

TEI OP-VET will organize a Regional Conference on Industry Engagement and Skills Development, together with Enabel, the Belgian agency of international cooperation, and the European Training Foundation (ETF). The conference will be co-hosted with the Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA), the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) and the National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET). It will focus on the topic “Boost industry partnership in the green, blue and digital economy to transform Skills Development”

To further tap into the potential of the OP-VET approach and address the challenges linked to the mismatch between the industry and training, a 2-day regional conference on industry engagement and skills development is being organized in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. The conference, “Boost industry partnership in the green, blue and digital economy to transform Skills Development,” aims to bridge the gap between training and the private sector by fostering collaboration, sharing best practices, and developing strategies to align educational programs with industry demands. By focusing on specific sectors, the conference will explore innovative approaches to equip the workforce with the necessary skills to thrive in the world of work of tomorrow. Including the TEI OP-VET in the organization of the conference is crucial for ensuring a specific focus on OP-VET approach. Their involvement will also facilitate bringing together different partners, leveraging the regional approach of OP-VET to address the unique challenges and opportunities in vocational education and training. By doing so, we can create a more comprehensive and inclusive dialogue that reflects the diverse needs and perspectives of all stakeholders involved.
