Description
In its ninth edition, the WORLD CIRCULAR ECONOMY FORUM will explore the potential of tropical solutions for sustainable growth, the power of the regenerative economy and the strategies of a bioeconomy—alongside the indispensable role of the production sector in driving the transition toward a circular economy.
The WCEF2025 will take place at Ibirapuera Park, the most famous park in the largest city in Latin America: São Paulo, from 13 to 14 May 2025.
The programme on 13 and 14 May consists of 4 plenaries and 12 parallel sessions guided by the latest scientific evidence. In addition, accelerator sessions will be held by WCEF collaborators on 15 and 16 May, online and around the globe.
Plenary sessions will cover topics such as circular innovation, discussing how innovation and positive financial signals can enable change? Another plenary focuses on the circular economy as the pathway to climate and nature targets and debates what policy shifts and bold innovations are needed to tackle the triple crisis? Plenary discussions on day two of the #WCEF2025 zoom in on global and regional efforts for circular trade systems. Sessions will uncover strategies to overcome trade barriers and leverage emerging markets’ strengths to build circular value chains. The circular economy as a tool for global development will be on the agenda of the closing plenary.

Some examples of topics covered in the parallel sessions include:
- Circular bioeconomy approaches for food security and resilience
- Redefining a circular built environment
- Financing the shift to circular value chains
- Developing essential skills for circularity
