Forests are a renewable resource at the heart of a sustainable bio-based economy and are the answer to a cleaner, brighter future.
|
While initiatives like Cities4Forests are promoting the protection of forests and reconnecting citizens to near, peripheral and distant forests, as a global leader on climate action, Europe is also working to make forests a priority for bioeconomy and water policies.
With a new European Parliament and Commission coming into office in 2019, now is the time to take stock, plan, and continue to ensure that forests are valued for what they are: great stabilizers of life on earth.
