the Second Regional Training Workshop for West African carbon project developers in the AFOLU sector (Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Uses).

As part of the implementation of Component 3 of the GCCA project "Capacity Building on climate negotiations and access to carbon finance mechanisms in West Africa", the team of GCCA / CILSS will organize between 24^th to 28^th February, 2014, the Second Regional Training Workshop for West African carbon project developers in the AFOLU sector (Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Uses).

The first training session to the attention of carbon project ideas holders (CDM and voluntary markets) in the AFOLU Sector (afforestation / reforestation, agroforestry, REDD + pilot, agriculture, renewable energy, energy efficiency, etc) was organized in April 2013 by the GCCA team in AGRHYMET Regional Centre. After this first session, 26 holders of project ideas were selected and their Project Ideas Notes (PIN) were prepared with the support of the project (see list below).

The expected outcomes of this Second workshop are:

·        The 26 PINs are finalized

·        The possibilities of funding are known by project holders

·        The links between project promoters and investors are established

·        The necessary support to project promoters is defined

The day of February 26th, 2014 will be devoted to the meeting between the project promoters and investors as a "business meeting".
