Seminar: Accelerating progress on essential medicines with the Lancet Commission and Team Europe
AU-EU Health Partnership
Event details
Description
Bridging evidence and action for global health equity
The Lancet Commission: Accelerating Progress on Essential Medicines, in partnership with Team Europe, will convene in Brussels from 9-11 June 2026 for technical deliberations. Building on the 2017 landmark report, the Commission is developing a new report to be launched in 2027: the 50th anniversary of the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines. Supported by Team Europe, this initiative focuses on scaling evidence-based strategies that address systemic barriers in medicine access, with a specific focus on low and middle-income countries.
This is an opportunity to reflect on global concepts of equitable access to health products and transforming research into actionable global policy. Therefore the AU-EU Health Partnership and the Lancet Commission: Accelerating Progress on Essential Medicines are organizing an afternoon to delve into these important topics.
