The lunch-time conference, Starting from Girls, Including girls in nutrition, agriculture and food security will discuss the fact that adolescent girls and young women play an important role in both providing nutrition to their communities and as the primary source of nutrition for their babies. The nutritional status of girls is also key to the nutritional status of their future children too. This topic was reviewed at Milan Expo with a discussion paper that will be presented alongside a review of ongoing efforts to improve the nutrition of girls including programmes supported by the European Commission.
