Summit for Democracy - Global Democracy Coalition Forum

International IDEA, in collaboration with the European Commission, the Global Democracy Coalition and the Youth Democracy Cohort, will host the Summit for Democracy - Global Democracy Coalition Forum - Brussels on the 28 February 2023. A special session of the Youth Democracy Cohort will take place in the morning of the 1 March 2023.

The Forum will provide a space of inclusive dialogue between civil society from around the world as well as representatives of the EU institutions and governments active in the cohorts, while informing and trying to influence the second Summit for Democracy and beyond. It offers the unique opportunity for civil society organizations to discuss the Summit commitments in their country, identify opportunities for engagement within the democracy cohorts ahead of the second Summit and share ideas about the future of the Summit for Democracy. The discussions will be in hybrid format and connect to a Forum taking place in Washington, D.C., on 1 March 2023, which will discuss the challenges democracy is currently facing.
