Description
This webinar will present a new study commissioned by the TED Secretariat: Supporting Implementation of the 2015 EU Transitional Justice Policy Framework, delivered by Uprights.
Adopted in 2015, the EU Transitional Justice Policy Framework remains a cornerstone of the EU’s engagement in promoting human rights, accountability, and rule of law globally. A decade later, this milestone provides an important moment to reflect on how the framework has been applied in practice and how the EU and its Member States can further strengthen their support to transitional justice processes in partner countries.
The report analyses both internal EU dimensions—such as coordination, awareness, and policy coherence—and the broader external engagement of the EU and its Member States. It identifies practical ways to better translate the Framework’s principles into operational guidance, programming, and policy dialogue. The findings underline the continued relevance of transitional justice approaches in supporting societies to address large-scale abuses, rebuild trust in institutions, support victims, and foster sustainable peace.
This webinar will present the main findings and recommendations of the study and provide a platform for discussion on how the Framework can be more effectively operationalised in current and emerging contexts.
