- Confident and familiar with the proposed framework and tools for integrating environment and climate change in national development planning and budgetary processes

Trainers
The course is facilitated by two specialised trainers
Target Audience
The primary target audience of the course are colleagues from delegations and headquarters who directly oversee an environmental or climate change portfolio. The training approach will take this fact into account by encouraging these colleagues to take an active role in the course of the training.
The training audience will also include colleagues from delegations and headquarters working on key development sectors which rely on the environmental resources of the country, are sensitive to climate change and/or influence the environment or the climate. Linkages with EU priority focal sectors, in line with the Agenda for Change, will be highlighted throughout the training.
When taking place in a developing country, the training course will be open to a limited number of government officials and other in-country stakeholders. The target group for these is senior government officials – typically, one senior official from the Ministry of Finance, other central government agency (e.g. Ministry of Planning) or key line ministries, with a key role in the planning and budgetary processes.
Number of Particpants: 25 max
Language
For the moment this course exists only in English.
The Course material is available here: https://europa.eu/capacity4dev/public-environment-climate/minisite/3-eu-trainings/country-led-environmental-and-climate-change-mainstreaming
Interaction and learning is promoted using a combination of presentations, group discussion, group exercises, case studies and development of individual or team action plans. Group exercises and case studies are designed so that the different roles and levels of experience and knowledge of different target groups are taken into account. The course is practice oriented, with the development of an actual mainstreaming programme as thread.
The course focuses on supporting government counterparts in their own integration efforts and therefore complements the course on greening development aid (generalist course) which concentrates on EC project and programme management cycle.
