(Note that this training may be combined with the Annual Seminar of EIDHR, CSO-LA and HR & Democracy Focal Points in Delegations which will take place from 30/01/2017 to 03/02/2017).
The main objective of the training is to equip EU staff with relevant knowledge, understanding and skills to mainstream child rights, gender equality and promoting the inclusion and the human rights of persons with disabilities in EU external action and development
Content:
Day 1: context and policy framework guiding EU work from a rights-based approach, focusing on inequalities and anti-discrimination (focusing on gender, child rights, and rights of persons with disabilities); the challenges in their implementation, the link with the SDGs and practical group exercises.
Day 2 and 3: practical exercises tackling inequalities following a rights-based approach (focusing on gender, child rights and persons with disabilities) in every stage of the Project Cycle Management.
Target audience: DEVCO staff and DG NEAR staff managing ENI cooperation, both in Delegations (priority 1) and Headquarters, as well as at EEAS and IPA colleagues working in Delegations. It is also open, according to availability, to staff from the "RELEX family" (ECHO, TRADE, FPI, ECFIN, EEAS and IPA staff working in HQ).
Priority will be given to colleagues who did not follow the previous editions of the same training.
Method:
A training workshop for max 50 participants from a range of contexts and with different learning styles, knowledge and experience in human rights and social inclusion requires the use of a number of different teaching methods.
The course staff will support participants’ learning by:•introducing concepts, ideas, theories and practice;
•focusing on inclusion of vulnerable groups at different stages of the project cycle management
•building on participants’ thoughts and experiences;
•facilitating plenary discussion;
•discussing case studies
