Training on Greening EU Development Cooperation
DEVCO-EuropeAid, Units C2 & C6
Event details
Description
Please be informed that DEVCO C2 and C6 will be organising a two-day training session on environment and climate change entitled "Towards Sustainable Development: Greening EU Development Cooperation" on 7 and 8 of November 2019 in Brussels.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change demand a radical acceleration of efforts to integrate, or mainstream, environment and climate change into EU international cooperation. DEVCO is stepping up its efforts on mainstreaming and has published new guidelines on this matter.
We invite colleagues to register for this training that aims at giving an overview of policy commitments, tools and methods for the integration of environment and climate change. The participants will learn about entry points, opportunities and challenges of integrating or “mainstreaming” environment and climate change in EU development cooperation.
The training is open to all colleagues, in Delegations and in HQ, who are involved in the programming, design or management of cooperation programmes, across all sectors of cooperation and financing instruments.
Participants from the EC, EEAS and Delegations can register via EU Learn: https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/ilp/pages/coursedescription.jsf?courseId=26063168&catalogId=301736
This course is offered back-to-back with the “Policy Dialogue in Environment and Climate Change” on 5-6 November 2019. These two trainings are highly complementary and interested colleagues are encouraged to register to both trainings.
Do not hesitate to contact Jakob Haushofer in case of any questions related to these trainings.
