Description
This webinar will address the relevance of the waste sector to climate change and the main challenges related to waste management in developing regions. During the seminar, experts will address the impacts of climate change on the waste sector, as well as the vulnerability and potential contribution of the waste sector to mitigation and sustainable development. Different technology options will be presented, highlighting the most common barriers faced by developing countries when using these technologies and how public policies can help to overcome these barriers. The seminar will be focused on developing countries, and will also include a discussion on the most successful lessons learned from developed regions.
The webinar will have a duration of one hour, followed by 30 minutes of "questions and answers" between the participants and the presenter. It will be conducted from 15:00-16:30 CET time (GMT+1).
The webinar will be conducted in English. Questions during the "question and answer" period may be submitted in English or Spanish.
