Women and Sustainable Energy, Stakeholder consultation
Brussels, 7 & 8 December 2016
The Directorate General for International Cooperation and Development (DEVCO) is inviting you to a stakeholder consultation meeting to be organised in Brussels on December 7th (pm)- 8th, 2016, in view of launching a Call for proposals on 'Women and Sustainable Energy'.
In the context of delivering access to affordable, sustainable, reliable and modern energy, this Call aims to build partnerships for supporting an enhanced and active role of women in the sustainable energy sector under the Gender Window of ElectriFI.
The consultation will give you the opportunity to be directly involved at this critical stage. On the one hand, discussions will explore potential synergies and space for collaboration for increasing women's entrepreneurship through sustainable energy by providing affordable access to finance and to energy. On the other hand, special focus will also be dedicated to improving the framework and supporting a more active role of women in the sustainable energy value chain through vocational training, capacity building, political advocacy and awareness campaigns.
During the working sessions the discussions will cover the aforementioned issues and go further, covering topics ranging from innovative financing, private sector-civil society relationships, advocacy and awareness raising to vocational training.
The detailed agenda of the consultation meeting will follow shortly. Meanwhile, it would be highly appreciated if you could notify us (EuropeAid-WOMEN-ENERGY@ec.europa.eu), by 22th November, of your interest and availability to attend the meeting.
Please don't hesitate to forward this message through your networks.
Looking forward to your participation in the consultation meeting,
Best regards,
