World Environment Day 2024

Event details
Description
World Environment Day on 5 June is the biggest international day for the environment. Led by the United Nations Environment Programme, and held annually since 1973, brings together millions of people from across the globe, engaging them in the effort to protect and restore the Earth. This year the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is hosting the global celebrations of World Environment Day.
The 2024 World Environment Day campaign focuses on land restoration, desertification and drought resilience under the slogan “Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration.” Land restoration is a key pillar of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030), a rallying call for the protection and revival of ecosystems all around the world, which is critical to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
