Description
On World Food Day, we invite you to take a look at the Farm to Fork Strategy. This strategy is a cornerstone of the European Green Deal and aims to build a food chain that works for consumers, producers, climate and the environment.
Sustainable agri-food systems are essential to manage natural resources, reduce pollution, address climate change and to protect biodiversity. Properly functioning agri-food systems are key drivers for poverty eradication, rural development, job creation, economic growth, innovation and, more broadly, for sustainable development, offering youth prospects to live and remain in rural areas.
In promoting a successful global transition to sustainable agri-food systems, the EU will encourage and enable the development of comprehensive, integrated responses benefiting people and nature.
