The WTO Trade and Environment Week is a forum for government officials, business representatives, international organizations, academics, and civil society to discuss ways to make global trade more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive.
On October 19, from 15:00 to 16:30, the EU will host the side event ‘Circular Design and Trade’. Participants in this event will explore the role of trade in facilitating the transition to climate-neutral, nature-positive and resource-efficient circular economies globally. The main objectives of this workshops will be to:
- Inform participants about trends in EU and global demand for products designed for the circular economy, resulting from market and legislative change.
 - Explain which issues and opportunities this raises for trade patterns and trade policy;
 - Identify facilitative actions which could overcome any difficulties.
