Event details
Description
We are pleased to invite you to our #EDD22 Lab Debate session Towards quality and green infrastructure investments (21 June 2022, 13:40 to 14:25 CEST) organised by the European Commission Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA), and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
Aligning the Global Gateway agenda to the Green Deal requires huge investments in quality and environmentally sustainable infrastructure. Developing countries are facing a large infrastructure deficit. The decisions we make now will determine whether we contribute to the transformational change towards a low-carbon, resilient and inclusive development.
This session will look at how quality infrastructure can bring new opportunities in developing countries, and examine tools and approaches to ensure that infrastructure projects under the Global Gateway agenda contribute to transformational change while respecting the 'do no harm' principle and contributing positively to our climate and biodiversity ambitions.
Jens SEDEMUND, Head of Environment and Climate Change, and Financing for Sustainable Development at the OECD, will be moderating our session, which will feature speeches from:
- Marjeta JAGER, Deputy Director-General of the European Commission DG INTPA
- Nick O'REGAN, Director of Implementation Practices and Standards at UNOPS
- Werner SCHMIDT, Director of the Urban and Territorial Development Department at EIB
- Christian KRÄMER, Member of the Management Committee at KfW Development Bank and Regional Director for Latin America and Policies
Keep in mind that you must register no later than June 6 to participate in person (in Brussels) and no later than June 16 to participate online.
Looking forward to seeing you at #EDD22
