1. Disaster Risk Governance
Effective disaster risk reduction begins with strong governance systems. This thematic area focuses on strengthening institutional frameworks, coordination mechanisms, and capacities at regional, national, and local levels.
The DRRP is supporting the design and implementation of policies, legal frameworks, institutional arrangements and information and data systems to ensure governments can make risk-informed decisions. Increasing the political will and commitment towards DRR, fostering south-south cooperation and ensuring alignment with the Sendai framework is also a key component of the DRRP actions.
