As part of the initiatives of the World Food Forum (WFF) which involve young people in rethinking the ways in which food is produced and consumed, the Minister for Youth Policy, Fabiana Dadone, launched a public consultation between 1 and 20 July in order to create new spaces for dialogue with young citizens on the right to food, the sustainability of agri-food systems and the circular economy. The wide participation to this survey, with the sending of over 5,000 contributions, showed a significant interest on the side of girls and boys: as a result, in order to deepen the dialogue on the issues raised through their proposals, Minister Dadone and the WFF took the initiative of organising a special event to promote the participation of young people in the international debate on the circular economy and their access to the opportunities that it offers - in cooperation with the Department for Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service and the National Youth Council (CNG).
The event will be streamed on the WFF social channels in Italian and English on 15 September 2021 from 14:00h to 17:30h. During the sessions Minister Dadone, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, the Minister for Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, Stefano Patuanelli, and the FAO Special Adviser Maurizio Martina, will interact with young people and representatives of organisations such as the WFF, CNG and the European Youth Forum, with the contribution of various expertes from national and international bodies.
