Artificial Intelligence (AI) Adoption by Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Zambia - A Survey Report
Library
Research Paper
The report investigates how CSOs in Zambia are adopting and using AI tools, particularly in the Democracy, Rights, and Governance (DRG) sector. The survey, involving 61 CSOs from Copperbelt, Lusaka, and Southern Province, shows that 44% of CSOs are using AI tools, mainly generative AI and chatbots. Despite interest, 54% of CSOs have not yet adopted AI, and concerns about job security, ethical issues, and data bias remain prevalent. The report identifies challenges such as financial constraints, lack of training, and language barriers, while suggesting that AI tools must be tailored to regional needs.
